Phalaenopsis Orchid Care

Phalaenopsis Orchids are very easy to care for. You need:
1) Lighting-Phalaenopsis orchids like low light but they grow better in morning sun. If you put them in more than 3 hours of direct sun it can scorch the leaves.
2) Watering- You will only need to water your Phalaenopsis once to twice a week. If your orchid is planted in moss, you will not need to water it more than once a week. If your orchid is planted in bark, it tends to dry out quicker and you will need to water it more often.
3) How to Bloom/Rebloom- To bloom or rebloom your orchid, you will need to either:
A. Cut back the flower spike after it is done blooming to the second or third node on the stem
B. Drop the night temperature by a few degrees. This usually tricks the plant into blooming.
**If the flower stalk dies back, cut it back at the base of the plant.

Hey Guys! This is my blog :) Before I start blabbing away I wanted to share with you a little bit about myself. I am a young teenager who is really passionate in gardening and cooking. I guess the thing is I like to use my hands. I also like caring after pets. I have always wanted to take care of a pet, even starting small from something like a pet fish. After I saw I killed two fish I wondered what I can care for that wont die so easy. I was walking through home depot and saw a bunch of cool plants. That is how it all began :) Also, I have a strong liking to cook and bake. I hope you will subscribe to my blog! Thank you everyone :)
